Praying For A Drop of Mercy

I offer millions of respectful obeisances at the lotus feet of my most worshipable Sri Guru pada padma, Srila Bhakti Vijnan Bharati Gosvami Maharaja on this most auspicious day of his appearance. By your mercy, Srila Gurudeva, I am now in Sridhama Mayapura. Please forgive me that I did not come to your samadhi to take your darshan. Due to delicate health, I have rather been seeing and worshipping you in your picture and trying to follow your instructions. Every day I wake up with eager resolve to chant the Hare Krsna Maha Mantra more and more as well as with quality, as you mercifully instructed. Every morning I pledge to read and study with earnestness and to sincerely practice in my daily life whatever I have read. Every day I determine to keep a regulated sadhana and use every moment in the service of your lotus feet and the lotus feet of Sri Gauranga. Every day I have good intentions, Srila Gurudeva, but practically every day I fall short in fulfilling those goals. Despite continued efforts, I have not been able to attain steadiness in all these endeavours. With a heavy heart I submit this at your lotus feet Srila Gurudeva. ....Yet I have great hope, knowing that you are very kind to those who beg your shelter. Therefore I pray on this most auspicious of auspicious days, that, despite my innumerable shortcomings and failings, you please give me a drop of your mercy! Please make my fickle mind and senses steady and let the quality of nistha come into my heart. Everything is possible by your mercy! In the words of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura: gurudeva! kripa bindu diya, koro ei dase, trinapeksa ati hina. sakala sahane, bala diya koro, nija mane sprha hiya. sakala samana, korite sakati, deho natha jathajatha tabe to gaibo, harinama sukhe, aparadha habe hata. kabe heno kripa, labhiya e jana, kritartha hoibe natha! sakti buddhi hina, ami ati dina, koro more atma satha. Offering my obeisances in the dust of your lotus feet, which can fulfill all desires, your humble servant..
