"Glorifying You Through Scriptural Verses"

Om ajnāna timirāndhasya jnanajana salakaya

caksur unmilitam yena tasmai Śri gururave namah

I offer my humble obeisances at the most merciful lotus feet of my Harinam Guru Srila Bhakti Vaibhava Puri Maharaja, the same heartful obeisances I offer at the lotus feet of my Diksha Guru Sri Srimad Bhakti Vijnana Bharati Maharaja, to all the spiritually powerful Guru Parampara, to all the associates of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada, to all the associates of Sriman Mahaprabhu and to all the associates of Sri Sri Radha Madana mohana.

During Gurudeva's vyasa puja it is my topmost fortune that I may try to glorify him as a service. For his pleasure I have tried to write a letter but I was never convinced. So I attempted five times to write this letter, with different subjects. But at the end I was inspired to glorify his whole life through some verses from various scriptures. Because they were written by realized pure devotees, so it is sure that he will accept them.

guru padasrayas tasmai krshna diksadi siksanam

visrabhena guru seva sadhu vartmanu vartanam

(Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu 1.2.74)

The first and foremost limbs of sadhana Bhakti are taking shelter of Sri Guru, accepting diksha, receiving siksha, serving Sri Guru with intimacy and affection and following the path of the previous acarya under his guidance.

prabhu kahe vaisnava seva nama sankirtana

dui kara sighra pabe sri krsna carana

(Caithanya caritamrita, Madhya 16.70)

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu replied: "You should engage your self in the service of the vaisnavas and always chant the holy name of Sri Krsna. If you do these two things, you will soon attain shelter at Krsna's lotus feet.'

aradhanam sarvesam visor aradhanam param

tasmai parataram devi tadiyanam samarcanam

(Param purana)

Lord Siva told goddess Durga: "My dear devi, although the Vedas mention worship of demigod, the worship of Lord Vishnu is top most and is ultimately recommended. However, above the worship of Lord Vishnu is the worship of the devotees, who are object of Lord's love."

bhavad vida bhagavata

tirtha bhutan svayam vibho

tirthi kurvanti tirthani

sangah sthena gadabhrta

Yudhisthira said to Vidhura: "My Lord, pure devotees like your good self verily holy places personified. Because you carry Sri Bhagavad within your heart, you turn all places into pilgrimage."

uttama hana vaisnava habe nirabhimana

jive sammana dibe jani krsna adhisthana

(Caithanya caritamrita, Antya 20.25)

Although a Vaisnava is the most exalted person, he is prideless and gives all respect to everyone, knowing everyone to be the resting place of Krsna.

Another way I want to glorify you is by quoting the same words that your Gurudeva used to glorify you:

"Although I have many disciples who readily do whatever I tell them, none are like you, who are able to use his intelligence to understand which services should be performed, without having to be told. I wish that I could be so fortunate as to have just one or two people like you with me at all the times, so I could incessantly preach the message of Srimad Mahaprabhu to a greater capacity."

nirapeksam munim santam

nirvairam sama darsanam

anuvrajami aham nityam

puyeyetu anghri renubhih

(Srimad bhagavata 11.14.16)

My pure devotees are free from any personal desire, always rapt in thoughts of My pastimes, peaceful, devoid of enemy, non-envious and equally disposed towards all. I therefore always follow in their footsteps because I desire to purify Myself with the dust of their lotus feet.

If Krsna Himself desire it why should I not? When will that day come when I will desire only the service of pranayi bhakta without having any other desires in my heart and having my mind fully absorbed in their pastimes and thus get the success of this human birth?

What makes me most astonished is that one gets an immeasurable, endless, permanent spiritual auspiciousness only if one desired to associate with you even once, has gotten your association even once, has served you even once, has taken Prasad from you hands even once, has thought about your transcendental qualities, pastimes, teachings even once, has served your dear sevak even once, what to speak if one sincerely tries to practice deeply your teaching and becomes a real disciple and understand fully your heart. What will happen? What will he become?

These are your glories. You can make the possible impossible and the impossible possible. Just because you want to please your gurudeva and Srimad Mahaprabhu.

Thus on this day a pray your causless mercy.

Hare Krsna.
